about the show
Following the success of Palette’s inaugural show in 2023, I am thrilled to announce a brand new collaboration with the esteemed Gallery at Green & Stone. Palette brings together a small group of celebrated fine artists - all members of leading art societies - recognised for their skill, vision, and dedication to the craft. This exciting group show features a selection of work from each of the eight painters and is a wonderful opportunity to explore a wide range of contemporary approaches.
My new collection of nine works has been freshly painted for this show. They are a collection of oil paintings created ‘en plein air’ from locations in and around London and further afield. It has been a joy to paint this collection of works for the Palette show and I hope you will all enjoy them as much as I enjoyed painting them.
I am delighted to be collaborating with the Gallery at Green & Stone on this exciting show and to be exhibiting alongside Amanda Coleman, Lesley Dabson, Roger Dellar, Penny German, John Killens, Robbie Murdoch and Max White. Artworks for all members of the Palette of Artists Exhibition will be available online on the Gallery website from 7th September.
ABOUT THE NEW Palette Collection by Lucy Marks
It has been a joy to create this new series for the Palette exhibition. All nine paintings have been freshly painted for the show, all in oil and painted en plein air in beautiful locations in and around London, as well as further afield. You may recognise London’s parks and a few iconic views.
The large oil painting was developed in the studio, using sketches and en plein air studies of the British landscape as reference.
All of the works are painted in my loose, impressionistic style, using expressive brushmarks to capture the mood and atmosphere of the landscape. My practice is rooted in direct observation outdoors, which I carry through into my larger studio pieces.. I hope you will all enjoy them as much as I enjoyed painting them.
All my ‘en plein air’ oil paintings are available now to purchase exclusively through your VIP access, here on my website. From 7th September, they will go live to the public, both on my website and the Gallery website. See new collection below.

MY FREE LIVE DEMONSTRATION
I will be offering a free drop-in demo at the Gallery during the show. This drop-in demo will be a fun exploration of how to paint loose landscapes in oil. I will be sharing my tips and working process - so I hope to see some of you there! Click here for details.

CHELSEA Plein Air Paint-Out
Palette will be collaborating with Green & Stone for a paint out in the Chelsea area. Paint alongside the Palette artists in a fun paint-out. There are some amazing prizes to be won! Thirty works will be selected by Green & Stone to be exhibited in their own Green & Stone Gallery in an exhibition from Oct 4th-11th. Plus you could win a voucher worth £250!
