I am delighted to have received my Certificate of Election to Full Membership of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters from the ROI Vice President, Haidee-Jo Summers. It was a very special and treasured moment, and one that marks an important milestone in my artistic journey.
The Royal Institute of Oil Painters has a long and distinguished history of celebrating excellence in oil painting, and it is a real honour to be welcomed into the Institute as a Full Member. As an artist, there are certain moments that encourage you to pause and reflect on how far you have come, and receiving this certificate was certainly one of them.
Painting has always been about much more than creating finished works. It is a continual process of observation, learning, experimentation and growth. To have that commitment recognised by fellow artists whose work I greatly admire is both humbling and encouraging.
I am incredibly grateful for the support, opportunities and friendships that have accompanied this journey, and I look forward to contributing to the Institute in the years ahead.
The certificate is currently at the framers, and I cannot wait to see it properly finished and hanging on the wall as a reminder of this very special achievement.
