I’ve really enjoyed my ongoing tutoring with Winslow Art Center Online, which continues to be such a rewarding part of my practice. Recently I took part in their Spring Fling, which was a wonderful burst of energy and creativity, bringing together artists from different stages of their journey to share work, ideas and approaches to painting.
Teaching and mentoring through the school has been a brilliant way to step back into the foundations of painting — thinking carefully about how we see, how we interpret, and how we translate landscape into paint. I always find that these conversations feed directly back into my own studio work as well.
Looking ahead, I’m very excited about my next workshop. In the summer I’ll be running a session focused on interpreting the landscape, exploring how atmosphere, mood and light can be distilled into more expressive and personal responses.
